Sierra Trading Post was founded in 1986 by Keith Richardson, who guided this company from its humble beginnings to the thriving enterprise it is today. Sierra Trading Post started with a 16-page catalog offering 44 products - all 2nds and Closeouts. They were illustrated with his son's hand-drawn images, printed in one color of ink and mailed to 100,000 customers. Today the company mails nine separate catalog titles printed in full color to more than three million customers, many of whom have been loyal shoppers since the beginning.
International customers especially like the convenience of shopping online at Sierra Trading Post. Over 10,000 separate products from 1,000 respected companies are available at savings of 35-70% off retail. We sell apparel for business dress, casual, outdoor adventure, performance wear, footwear, home furnishings, accessories - not to mention gear for cycling, climbing, skiing, hunting, spelunking and more. All are closeouts, seconds or overstocks... all at 35-70% savings or more.
Today Sierra Trading Post has three retail outlet stores, a 500,000 square foot warehouse and more than 700 employees. Our friendly and well-trained customer service representatives handle more than 150,000 calls every month and answer 90% of these calls within 30 seconds. The Sierra Trading Post shipping department processes between 5,000 and 8,000 shipments daily - most of them heading for their destination within 24 hours.
